More Details

This painting is inspired by Manasquan Beach, at the southern end of Monmouth County, New Jersey. The jetty in this scene is an icon to locals and surfers from around the world. Even Surfing legends like Andy Irons have enjoyed the consistently high quality waves here.

The artist, Jay Alders grew up surfing here and it’s still a favorite beach spot for he and his wife and three children.

I purchased the 14×48 Fall Swell at the Inlet Museum Quality Print for my wife for her 50th birthday. Jay’s artwork makes us so happy, and when she saw it, she started tearing up (which made me tear up). Jay went out of his way to make her birthday present special. His work is so beautiful, and you can feel the love and passion in his work. We’re so lucky to have such a talented artist near us, who is also so humble and appreciative. The fact that you can tell that he’s such a good person and loves his family so much, always makes it feel so much more than buying beautiful art. After going back and forth, we decided to hang the print in our bedroom so that it’s one of the first things we see when we wake up.

I received my 12×36 Cotton Rag Paper version of this print (#1!) and it is even more beautiful in person than I expected. I cannot wait to get it framed and up on the wall somewhere. Whether you’re a surfer or not, this is an ideal piece of art for anyone who loves Manasquan. I’d also like to commend the communication regarding the shipping process and instructions on how to handle the print. Very professional and helpful.
