About the Painting
The Scorpion Forearm Stand (Vrschikasana Forearm Variation) is a beautiful yoga pose of balance, strength, inner focus and coordination. Scorpion pose is a favorite yoga posture of the artist and dedicated yogi Jay Alders. “Scorpion Sunrise” was completed in June 2014 and was rendered with oil paint on wood panel.
The original painting (oil on wood) is 30 x 40 inches (76.2 x 101.6 cm)
The warm yellows and vivid oranges of the sunrise and the tumultuous surreal cloudscape is an intense backdrop for the yogini posed in the foreground and feeling empowered and free. The sand pipers bring an added sense of meditative balance to the scene with their straight tall legs and calming vibe.
It is available as signed and numbered limited edition prints on either stretched gallery wrapped canvas giclée or on archival fine art paper (shipped rolled).
