About

“Solitube” is one of Jay Alders’ most recognized surf genre paintings. Depicting a longboard surfer hanging ten at dawn patrol or sunset. The elongated figure and soulful, retro inspired stance is a signature of the artist’s style.

From the Artist

Jay says it was inspired during summer of 2006 when he discovered a love of longboard surfing. Alders says, “It was a time in my life of deep self-analyzation. I spent a lot of time just meditating and learning about myself and the ways of the world. This piece was born from those morning and dawn sessions observing the light playing with the water surface as this solo missions took place.

Print arrived quickly and beautifully packaged. We had first seen Jay Alders artwork in Rincon PR while visiting our son who was living there at the time. I made note of his name and bought this as a birthday present for my son, hopefully he’ll be surprised.

My son saw this artwork on a surf trip in Morocco. He did not purchase as he realized they were fakes. Back home we found Jay Alder website and are happy to purchase an authentic print from the real artist.Travelers should beware when buying to find out before if an item is authentic. Thanks Jay Alder for your beautiful work.
