“Solitube” is one of Jay Alders’ most recognized surf genre paintings. Depicting a longboard surfer hanging ten at dawn patrol or sunset. The elongated figure and soulful, retro inspired stance is a signature of the artist’s style.
From the Artist
Jay says it was inspired during summer of 2006 when he discovered a love of longboard surfing. Alders says, “It was a time in my life of deep self-analyzation. I spent a lot of time just meditating and learning about myself and the ways of the world. This piece was born from those morning and dawn sessions observing the light playing with the water surface as this solo missions took place.”
