Alders Live Painting & Interview on FOX30 TV Morning Show – Feb 24,2012
FEB 24, 2012: JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Artist Jay Alders, who has graced the covers of VOID Magazine, Alma Surf and Surfer’s Path, stopped by Action News to work on his newest painting Friday morning.
Alders is a painter, photographer and graphic designer. He’s best known for his surf art. (He’s also a pretty good surfer and skater in his own right!) The Jersey Shore native recently made North Florida home. It’s pretty safe to say, with our sunny beaches and warm weather, he will have endless inspiration on Florida’s Atlantic Coast.
Recently, Alders took the stage at Free Bird Café in Jacksonville Beach with longtime friend and performer G Love. G Love created the tunes and Alders supplied the artistic flare. It only took him a few hours to brush out a crafty rendition of the harmonica wielding, foot stomping musician.
Friday, on FOX30 Action News This Morning, Alders stopped by the studio to create some more magic. While anchors Mike and Tera Barz supplied the commentary, Alders painted live during the morning show. In just more than an hour, he was able to produce a watery masterpiece perfect for any surfer’s paradise.
