Embracing the Waves of Creativity: Jay Alders at Sea Hear Now Festival 2023
I am so thrilled to have been named the main featured Artist of the Sea Hear Now Festival 2023. My journey to this honor began with being commissioned two other times prior to this.
A Harmonious Symphony of Art and Music
The festival, set against the backdrop of Asbury Park, NJ, was more than a musical extravaganza. It was a canvas where art harmonized with performances by legendary bands such as Foo Fighters, The Killers, Weezer, The Beach Boys, Greta Van Fleet and Sheryl Crow.
For this event, I created four large murals, each painted in rich acrylic which drew massive attention from the over thirty thousand concert goers, adding a visual depth to the festival’s oceanic and surf culture. Two of the pieces were modern, whimsical and wild ocean wave scenes and the remaining two murals were my signature elongated surfer figures.
Alders’ Artistic Journey and Recognition
This year marked my third commission for the festival, but it was my first as the main featured artist.

The artwork at the festival was not just about the visual impact. It was about creating a space where art, music, and surf culture coalesced, offering festival-goers a multi-dimensional experience. I created pieces that were portals into a world where every stroke and color sang and every part of the composition had rhythm.
