This past weekend we brought the kids over to my local climbing gym, Gravity Vault to celebrate my nieces Mya and Jenna’s 10th Birthday.
It also marked my identical son’s turning 17 months old and their first time to the climbing gym and my daughter’s first time in a climbing harness. Seeing my kids and my nieces look around in wonder and excitement and getting to experience a facility like this is just incredible to be a part of. There certainly was nothing like this around when I was growing up, but that didn’t stop my little brother Eric and I from climbing trees, on top of roofs, over fences and up hills quite regularly.
Here’s my friend Nick who works at the gym putting Summer into her harness. She was so excited and kept repeating in her cute toddler voice, “Look, I’m climbing!…Climbing!”
Two sets of “Alders brothers”…Me and my brother Eric spotting my sons Judah and Greyon (Left to Right) while they attack the wall and do a little bouldering. Â The age limit there is five, but we snuck them on anyway. My boys have been climbing my garage bouldering wall since they were about 10 or 11 months old and can climb over my head already.
The birthday girls with all the first cousins of this side of the family. Quite a beautiful bunch of kids who love each other so much.
