Pursuing creativity can be uncomfortable if not terrifying. We leave ourselves open to vulnerability, self doubt , criticism and failure.
We struggle with trying to be better than someone else or get lost in the noise of our own thoughts missing out on what is.
But when creativity truly flows, there is no effort, there is no struggle. This blissful artistic flow can last minutes, days or just a brief instant.
The space between those glimpses into pure inspiration are often spent over analyzing how to get back to where you just were.
Painting, much like parenting is most fulfilling when just allowing the present moment to guide you towards love and connection as your primary intention.
Don’t try to imitate someone else, that’s their mission. Don’t criticize your work, allow it to be and find pleasure in the process.
