As people around the globe celebrated World Water Day 2014 on Saturday, we payed homage to water in our own special way: by taking our daughter to her first swim lesson. Â When Chelsea suggested that we start Summer’s swim lessons when she is not even six months old yet, I sort of wondered how that was suppose to work. Â I mean, Little Summer can’t even crawl yet, but I went along with it. Â My curiosity and enthusiasm to see her have another special milestone was enough to make it worth a try.
With a former competitive swimmer for a Mommy and two parents who surf and love the ocean, Summer couldn’t escape this opportunity.  She was the youngest in the “Shrimp Class” by a couple months.  She was wearing an adorable little itty bitty yellow polka dot one piece swimsuit that we’ve  been saving for just this occasion. Holy moley she looked beautiful! I was smiling from ear to ear and so proud of my little girl.
From the moment she entered the water, she felt so visibly comfortable and didn’t cry once as her cute little chubby legs splashed around.  Summer was born under-water in a tub, so this little lady’s love of the water is just meant to be.  Chelsea and I took turns teaching her “kick kick kick” and “paddle paddle paddle” while the other would point the GoPro Camera to capture her first moments in the pool.
I’m so excited for next week’s class! 🙂
