Artist Jay Alders brings it back in the barrel for this new surfer inspired painting.
I drew upon a familiar style of mine for this one. Reminiscent of some of my other classic original surf paintings, such as Pot of Gold, Solitube and Left Behind the Wall. I find that my creative inspiration takes me where it wants. I’m just a conduit with a brush in my hand and this painting is the latest ride that my muse took me on.
The elongated surfer figure is crouched down in a tube. The geometric wave formations close in as he makes his way through the tunnel of water. My hope is that you can feel the exhilaration and anticipation of being on the board as you look at it. I had no reference photo for this one. Like a wave I just rode what came my way.
“The Down Low” is available now as a Limited Edition, Signed Print on Archival Gallery Wrapped Canvas and Cotton Rag Paper.
