California Surf Museum’sÂ
3rd Annual GalaÂ
and Grand Celebration ofÂ
WOW: Women on Waves
In our world of many family obligations, business commitments, and social gathering, we often forget to stop and make the time to give back to something that will be here long after we are gone, something that preserves a part of our lifestyle and culture that can be enjoyed for future generations. The Board and staff of the California Surf Museum invite you to spend an evening celebrating our new exhibit “WOW: Women on Waves” and help us continue our efforts to preserve our surfing heritage by attending one of our main fundraising events. The evening will be filled with music, delicious food and drinks, live and silent auction opportunities and a rare opportunity to personally meet and honor many of the women who led the way in the early days to those who have raised the bar today. It’s an exclusive chance for you to spend an evening with friends and give back to a worthy cause. Many thanks to our partners Kona Brewing Company, Roxy, and Luna Bar.
Support the Gala with a Donation
The annual California Surf Museum Gala is one of our biggest fundraisers for the year. This year we are working on having our silent auction both at the Gala on Saturday, June 5th, and online two weeks preceding the Gala. This offers donors additional promotion for their gifts. If you have items such as surfboards, art, apparel, jewelry, wine, concert tickets, trips, gift certificates or a gift basket of products from your business, surf excursions or lessons with surf pros or whatever cool object of desire you may have that can help us raise funds for the museum, please give us a call. We are looking at expanding our collection, installing more educational media to enrich our visitors’ experience as well as continue accessioning our existing collection to become accredited, all very lofty goals for 2010, but with your support and aloha we’ll get there.
Volunteer for the Gala
The Gala takes many hands to make all its working parts work smoothly for our guests. From helping with set-up, working as a server, helping with the live and silent auction or just assisting guests throughout the evening, it’s a fun way to meet a lot of great people and help a worthy cause. If you’re interested in working all or part of Saturday, June 5th between the hours of 1pm to 11pm, please give Louise Balma a call at (760) 505-4421 or email.
