One of my favorite events of the year….The Belmar Pro, hosted in my former home town. This year I set up again in the perfect weather of the late summer with my lovely wife Chelsea. The waves weren’t too cooperative as they usually are this time of year, but we had such a fun time hanging out with everyone. I’ve so appreciative of all the support and good vibes we received from everyone!
I improvised a painting on the last day of the event. I didn’t quite get to finish it with everything else going on, but I got a good start and made some nice progress on a piece that I’ll finish sooner or later.
Little Dean Randazzo Jr. wanted to help me out. How cute is this?
Pretty good progress considering I was multi-tasking!
After his heat, my buddy Dean Randazzo and his adorable son little Dean took a shot with me. Such a bummer the waves sucked this year, he was surfing against Tom Curren. That could have been insane if the conditions were like past years.
A fan named Mike came up to me as I was live painting to show me his tattoo inspired by my painting “Belmar Barrel”. Wow! Totally worth taking a break for a photo opp’!
After a long and great weekend, we got to enjoy some epic Thai food with Barbara and Dean Randazzo.
