June 5th 2008 —The shores of New Jersey experienced an eventlike no other. Almost 600 people came out to support Zimzala ‘08, a unique Art, Music and Humanitarian event with over $13,000 raised to benefit Surf Aid International.
Our close friends Echo Movement, rocked the stage with their amazing Reggae sounds. Their assistance and support both personally and musically means the world to us.
Headlining the night, was our dear friend Paula Fuga who flew out from Oahu’s North Shore to spend a few days with us. Paula’s breathtaking vocal talents are only rivaled by her warm heart, kind soul and sense of humor. Mahalo Nui Paula!!
The Surf Art Auction was a virtual “Who’s Who” in Surf Art including pieces by: Jay Alders, Sean Davey, Jeff Smith,DJ Strunz, Robb Havassy,Ronnie Jackson, Wade Koniakowsky, Heather Brown, Erik Able, John Severson, Drew Brophy, Alex Lanau and more!
The Beautiful Bikini Clad Sun Dreams Girls greeted guests and helped run the event whileFree food by Surf Taco and Free Frappucino Bar by Starbucks was a huge hit! Surf Film screening of Down the Barrel, one of the best Surf movies we’ve ever seen added to the event’s prestige.
