After the Surfrider-Emergen-C MaliBLUE Event, we took up our Surf Artist friends on their warm invites to hang out at their Homes/Art Studios.
First stop was to Ron Croci’s home studio near Torrance. Ron took a few hours out of his day to drive us around to some beautiful scenic places in Palos Verde and the surrounding areas. Seen here to the right, Ron is showing me an overlook above this beautiful cove.
Ron does some beautiful oil paintings which you can see at: http://www.aquasapienarts.com
Next stop on our Artist to Artist hang time was the Studios of truly Legendary Surf Artists Rick Rietveld and Phil Roberts in Costa Mesa,CA.
Phil called me and invited us to stop by the Studio, which was an offer we couldn’t refuse.Â
Not only are these cats some of the most talented Artists I’ve met in a very long time, but they are equally down-to-Earth and have as warped of a sense of humor as me 😛

The last day and night of our trip, we had the absolute pleasure to spend a night at the Brophy’s San Clemente Paradise.
We met up with Drew at his beach side Studio where he was rockin’ out on his electric guitar before warmly welcoming us and bringing us back home.
We were greeted at the front door by their unforgettably charming 7 year old son Dylan who enthusiastically showed us his “invention book” and took us aside to talk to us about environmental concerns he had. Â Too cool!
3 Bottles of wine later, we all stayed up late talking about art, business, life philosophies and Spirituality. Â I must say, being around Drew, Maria and Dylan was a really great time and Chelsea and I can’t wait to spend time with them again soon.
I don’t see how it would be possible to not have already seen Drew Brophy’s Surf Art, but if you haven’t, get over to www.DrewBrophy.com and check it out and see why he’s such a legend with the Paint Markers! Â Maria Brophy is a Marketing Queen and can be found on Twitter.com/mariabrophy
