I live at the Jersey Shore and I love the beach lifestyle. I was at the beach with my three little kids earlier and when I got back, I felt inspired to paint.
I had this big slab of wood sent to me from Latvia. (I really need to look up where that is on a map). First I sealed it and let it dry and then I stared at it for a few minutes and then, the scene jumped out to me.
I used acrylics for this one. They dry fast and I have found ways to keep them blendable for much longer. The process took about 4.5 hours.
Towards the end of the painting, my twin boys came down to hang out with me and make their own art. Greyson does a little cameo on this video below too. Judah, my younger twin came up with the idea to put the jetty in the painting, which I thought was a great idea.
I call it “Shore Break at the Pavillion”.
