Introducing “Moonlight Glide”, a new painting by Fine Artist Jay Alders which pays homage to his longtime love of snowboarding.
“I started carving mountains when I was 16 or 17 years old. It wasn’t the cool or hip thing to do then. Quite the contrary, most ski slopes didn’t even allow snowboarding.” , Alders says.
Known for warm season surf inspired pieces, this is a new turn for the artist. But despite the subject matter shift, the composition and elongated reality felt in this  piece are still characteristically an Alders work.  The artist says that being back home with the winter approaching and crispness in the air has him frothing for some powder.
The symmetry between graphic elements and more painterly brush strokes gives this painting a soothing visual balance. The spiraling vortex of trippy water-like clouds are quite reminiscent of an ocean wave curling over the snowboarder below.
This new snowboard art piece is now available as limited edition signed archival prints on the Jay Alders online store, shop.JayAlders.com.
